Hello. I'm Evan Reynon.

My path into product design began earlier than I realized.

I developed a deep-rooted love for creation, and making, splitting my time between scouting adventures and working in my dad's workshop. It was there that I discovered my passion for bringing ideas to life with my own hands.

With a foundation in traditional art, I earned a spot in Purdue University's competitive industrial design program. Industrial design provided the perfect balance of my desire to work in both technology-driven and creatively-focused fields. It was at Purdue where I grew a passion for design in all facets.

My design's focus on a few main things:

  • Integrating technology, artistry, and sustainability

  • Creating human-centered designs with real-world impact

  • Balancing form and function in every project

With a background in the outdoor industry, I bring a deep commitment to environmental stewardship to my work. I thrive in high-pressure environments and take pride in leading teams to develop innovative, creative solutions.

I'm always seeking opportunities to collaborate with forward-thinking teams focused on design excellence and pushing the boundaries of innovation. I didn't invent the wheel but i can make it better

Career

  • Fall 2024

    • Guided 15 industrial design students through material selection and construction techniques, helping them navigate challenges like wood joint stability, upholstery integration, and cost-effective manufacturing processes for their furniture designs

    • Provided hands-on troubleshooting support for common furniture design issues, including material warping, structural integrity, and assembly efficiency, enabling students to develop more practical and production-ready solutions

    • Enhanced students' understanding of real-world furniture use by introducing stress testing methods, durability considerations, and maintenance requirements, resulting in designs that better addressed everyday consumer needs and market demands

  • June 2023 - January 2024

    • Worked in close relation with the Office of Technology Commercialization and Mechanical Engineering department at Purdue University

    • Led confidential project for improving the lives of visually impaired individuals as the sole designer and coordinator, collaborating with engineering and mechanical engineering students under NDA.

    • Facilitated effective communication and problem-solving to align design and engineering goals, optimizing the product’s functionality and user experience.

  • March 2023 - June 2023

    • Collaborated with faculty members of Purdue’s Electrical Engineering department to ideate and conceptualize visually compelling graphic designs for grant submissions.

    • Orchestrated precise and detailed illustrations of proposed engineering research, aimed at enhancing the visuals and marketability of new music products and drone concepts.

  • August 2020 - October 2020

    • Developed comprehensive 3D models and technical drawings for industrial material handling equipment, translating designs into manufacturing solutions

    • Created and optimized 2D engineering documentation and drawings while managing multiple high-priority design projects to meet deadlines
